Motorhome Habitation Checks

If you’re new to the world of motorhomes then you may be scratching your head on this one, wondering what a habitation check is. A motorhome habitation check is a service on the living area of your motorhome or campervan, and can also be carried out on caravans. During a habitation check, we’ll inspect things like the gas system for any leaks or potential dangers, the water system and tanks, thorough check of the electrical system and leisure batteries, safety equipment, bodywork, and an internal damp check for any signs of water ingress.

Whilst a motorhome habitation check isn’t a legal requirement, it is highly recommended to get one done regularly, usually annually, when first buying a used motorhome. Doing so helps to identify any issues quickly before they cause serious damage or put you and your family in danger. But it also helps to hold the resale value of your motorhome.
